As winemaker for Cordon of Santa Barbara winery, I bring over 25 years of winemaking experience and travels to every vintage of wine. Our wines come from grapes grown in one of the most unique climates in the world. When harvested, they are fermented, aged then finished using traditional and modern techniques. Our vineyard and winery team exclusively work the distinct microclimates of Santa Barbara’s 7 AVAs within the county. These grapes are truly amazing due to the surrounding geography, and it shows in every bottle made. You may even say the grapes are “bien nacido”. A nod to my former employer and one of the best vineyards in the county.
The winery’s vineyards are located in some of the most prestigious AVAs in California including Santa Maria Valley, Santa Ynez Valley, Santa Rita Hills, Los Olivos District, Ballard Canyon, Sta. Rita Hills and Alisos Canyon. Grapes are hand-picked, carefully sorted, then vinified in small batches to ensure the wines maintain their depth and complexity.
